About Us
A warm welcome awaits you at Invicta House B&B in the coastal Highland village of Golspie, overlooking the beautiful Dornoch Firth. We offer two rooms with en-suite bathrooms; both rooms have Freeview TV, hand-held hairdryers and free Wi-Fi connection (on Superfast broadband), with bedside lamps that have in-built USB points for overnight charging of electronic devices. If you’re a quilter or enjoy other crafts, we also have a small patchwork & quilting shop on the premises, The Fabric Fairy, which offers an extensive selection of fabrics for crafters of all ages and abilities as well as a small selection of other hobby accessories. The Fabric Fairy was voted Best Independent Haberdashery Shop in Scotland 2017 by Sew Magazine's British Sewing Awards. Invicta House B&B has also been in the awards, receiving an award from Booking.com for exceptional customer feedback, rated at 8.9/10 overall for 2021.
Both of our rooms are named after Single Malt whiskies and offer tea/coffee tray with biscuits, fresh towels and complimentary toiletries as standard. The rooms also have hotel-style tub chairs which are comfortable to sit in for reading or watching TV.
Ardbeg is located on the ground floor and has an en-suite bathroom with shower, toilet and washbasin. It is a twin-bedded room with two single beds, colour Freeview TV and wardrobe. (Click here to view photos)
Balmenach is also located on the ground floor with en-suite bathroom to match that of Ardbeg, next door, and is a double room. Freeview colour TV, wardrobe and trouser press are all within this room. (Click here to view photos)
Invicta House’s ground floor Laundry Room underwent extensive refurbishment in the spring of 2018 with a new door, new floor and a complete redecoration. It was lifted to a light, airy and user-friendly room designed to keep travellers in fresh clothing whilst away from home; the washing machines are free to use whilst the tumble dryer is just £2.50 per hour or part thereof. Dogs are welcome at Invicta House and we make no charge for your dog to stay with you in your room. We are pleased to supply a drinking bowl in each room for your dog on request, and a fleece blanket for them to sleep on (advance notice required please).
Breakfast is served in our ground floor dining room in two sittings, the first at 07.45 and the second at 08.30. Earlier breakfast times can be accommodated for those guests who need to be out and about early in the day. Packed lunches are available on request at £6.00 per person. Special dietary requirements should be notified when booking, although vegetarian meals are offered as standard on our breakfast menu.
